Just as bad weather swept through the northwest the night before, City overwhelmed Manchester United aside at the their home ground. It was a statement three goal victory for their manager's side due to goals from Knaak, Bunny Shaw and Lauren Hemp. It was a performance that truly announced their title credentials as they strengthened their standing at the WSL pinnacle.

Back-to-Back Losses for Manchester United

This scoreline marked successive Women's Super League defeats for the United manager's side for the initial occasion since spring 2024, leaving them a significant margin off the league leaders with their trophy ambitions in serious doubt.

The Red Devils' capability to juggle domestic and continental football with a limited team has been a frequently analyzed issue since they earned a place in the UCL. Second Half
