The 22-year-old tennis player Emma Raducanu ends her season and has decided to continue with trainer through next year.
Emma Raducanu reached the third round in three of the four Grand Slam events during the season.
Britain's Emma Raducanu has pulled out of the last two tournaments this season as a result of a medical condition she has been battling in recent days.
At 22 years old was due to play in events in Asia but opted to return home to regain her health ahead of launching her preparations for 2026.
Those preparations will involve coach Francisco Roig, as the pair have decided to continue collaborating for the upcoming season.
The tennis professional underwent blood pressure monitoring in her opening round with Ann Li in Wuhan last week and withdrew when behind 6-1 4-1 on an oppressively humid day.
She again required a doctor's assessment at this week's Ningbo Open, where she was defeated in three sets to Chinese wildcard Zhu Lin in round one.
Her movement was with clear difficulty in the deciding set in the match with Zhu due to back discomfort that has affected her on several occasions in 2025.
These outcomes meant an encouraging season, in which Raducanu rose into the international top 30 after a long gap for the first time since 2022, ended with three successive defeats.
She held three match points then was defeated by Jessica Pegula in the third round in the Beijing tournament last month.
The player achieved 28 matches this year and reached the semi-finals in Washington, but the highlight of her season was at the Miami Open in March.
Ranked first in Britain reached the quarter-finals of the WTA 1000 event, overcoming Emma Navarro, the eighth seed on the way then falling in a three-set match to the world number four Pegula.
Her coach was Mark Petchey as coach from Miami until Wimbledon, with Francisco Roig stepping in ahead of the US Open.
The first plan with Rafael Nadal's former coach was through the season's conclusion but the collaboration persists, with a training session scheduled late this year.
Raducanu told that the trial session alongside Roig after Wimbledon was like a "secret mission" as they aimed to maintain secrecy.
She came very close to overcoming Sabalenka, the world number one at the first competition with Roig in August's Cincinnati tournament.
The coach also accompanied Raducanu in New York, where she reached the third round then falling to Elena Rybakina, the 2022 Wimbledon winner.
